The Beginning of my Journey
Sometimes I would feel out of place; needing to catch up. However, that would never deter me from working towards what I want to achieve...

I always want my work to have character. No matter how crazy or unorthodox my ideas might be, I always want my work to be a representation of me. I’ll take the risk. I won’t ever be afraid to express how I feel or to portray what’s on my mind.
These sketches represent the start of my love for design. Although I had little experience with sketching, I was in love with being able to transfer my ideas onto paper. There was something about being able to create a visual representation of my imagination.
From the very start, I had a love for sneakers. For that reason, that was the first thing I gravitated towards to start on this path.

This was a very special sketch to me. It was the first time I used Photoshop to render a sketch. Although very “rough” looking, I began to see all the possibilities that are out there.

Slowly with time, I kept practicing my sketching, each time getting better and more detailed with my sneakers. At first, I started by sketching sneakers that already existed, and then I moved on to creating my own.

Through time and effort, I improved my initial skills significantly. I paid closer attention to detail and created work of higher quality. But more importantly, I also fell in love with the ability to improve, through determination.

I fell in love with this because it taught me that even if I started behind, I could always work harder. Rather than deterring me, the possibility of improving motivates me.
